Theosophy is a 19th-century esoteric movement founded by Helena Blavatsky that advocates "divine wisdom," merging Eastern traditions (Hinduism/Buddhism) with Western mysticism. Core beliefs include universal brotherhood, reincarnation, karma, and the pursuit of truth through studying occult laws. It posits a non-personal, ultimate Reality and seeks to synthesize religion, philosophy, and science.

Theosophical Society in America
Core Beliefs and Aspects
Universal Brotherhood: Promoting understanding among all people without discrimination.
Theosophical View on God: Rejects a personal, anthropomorphic God in favor of an all-pervasive, transcendent, and immanent "Absolute Reality".
Theosophical View on Karma & Reincarnation: Believes in cosmic laws of cause and effect (karma) and the evolution of the soul through multiple lifetimes.
Wisdom-Religion: Claims to be an ancient, universal truth that underlies all global religions.

Theosophical Symbol
The symbol of the Theosophical Society is complex, incorporating a snake biting its tail (Ouroboros), a hexagram (Star of David), an Ankh, a lotus flower, and the AUM symbol, representing the unity of various spiritual traditions and the interconnectedness of life.

Criticisms of Theosophy
Pseudoscience: Critics and scholars, including Maria Carlson, have classified it as a "positivistic religion" that uses "pseudoscience" to describe its cosmological theories.
Syncretic Hybrid: It is often criticized as an eclectic, "hybrid" religion that misinterprets the Eastern traditions it claims to emulate.
Contradiction: It is viewed by some as a "crypto-religion" or a mix of esoteric ideas that paradoxically rejects Christian doctrines while trying to harmonize all faiths.

Key Texts
Isis Unveiled (1877) and The Secret Doctrine (1888) by Helena Blavatsky are considered foundational.
(just ordered those)
Also yesterday I bought and started Alice A Bailey's "Esoteric Psychology, Vol 1" as well as the "Ponder on This".

I've been reading Vadim Zeland's "Reality Transurfing"
And listened to some of C.G. Jung's "Memories, Dreams, and Reflections" and the other day got "The Red Book" and started listening.
